It was to be her first marathon.
Joanne Qureshi had completed a handful of half-marathons and 10k events, but was very keen to push herself to the limit and so entered herself in the Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon around York on 8th October 2017.
Following an impromptu conversation with a client of the Community Awareness Programme in the middle of town where she heard the story of a life in trouble, and a place where people could be helped, her “cause” was decided and she wanted to use her amazing exploits to raise money for this local charity.
We are all of us here at CAP Care just so grateful that Joanne decided to do this, and we all massively appreciate the funds she has raised to help us do what we do to help the disadvantaged of Wakefield in this our 20th year of doing so.
At the time of writing the total is over £1100, which is simply phenomenal. Joanne is pictured here passing the finishing line with a huge smile on her face!
THANK YOU and WELL DONE Joanne – from all of us!
